Kid's Rock Band 101 with Spencer Johnson - Are You Ready To Rock?

Saturday Class – Instructor; Spike Johnson

Rock Band 101 is a group class that provides students the opportunity to put the skills they are learning in lessons to use in a group setting and to take their playing to the next level. Music is a language and in this class we will go from knowing phrases to having a conversation. In other words, we will be learning full songs as a group and thus making the transition from a riffer to a rocker.

• This class is geared towards beginner to intermediate electric or acoustic guitar and bass students.
• Guitar students will be expected to know the basic chords-G, C, D, A, F, Em and Am.
• They will need to be able to play power chords and  single note melodies.
• Also, students should be comfortable reading chord charts and tabulature.
• In this class students will learn songs from artists such as Greenday Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beatles to name a few. The focus will be on developing rhythm in song playing.
• Students will be working in a band format. They will perform at a seasonal concert with their groups.
• This is an hour-long class. The sessions will be ongoing and students are welcome to attend as many sessions as they please.
• The total cost for one 4-week session is $100, which is due upon registration.
